Artist Statement
I have been creating and enjoying art for the past 28 years. I find that the more I experiment, the more I learn and the more excited I become. After working as a Graphic Designer for many years, I am now teaching a wide range of visual arts to high school students.
I am most interested in form and texture. The fluidity of the human form can be exaggerated through the elasticity of the clay. I am able to bend and push the clay to create abstract forms. Adding texture is always exciting and when I see an object with an unusual surface I experiment with pressing it into clay. I often layer a number of textures over each other. By varying the use of form and texture, each of my pieces are unique. I enjoy the fact that it is almost impossible to create the same object twice.
